Apple Watch

I held off getting an Apple Watch for a long time. Frankly, I didn't see the need for it. Then, I wanted something I could use at the gym as a timer without needing to go to my cell phone. Enter the Apple Watch.

As I continue to try to reduce reliance on my iPhone, I am heartened by the fact I can do a lot of things on my Apple Watch that I previously did on my iPhone. In particular, it is really helpful to get notifications on my watch, so I don't have to look at my phone if I'd prefer not to.

Outside of using the timer at the gym, I also wear it when I'm expecting a package, so I don't miss notifications that someone is trying to get into my apartment building.

One drawback is it's a little hard to type out a text message, but maybe that's just as well. One thing you can do is navigation through Apple Maps.

I also like that I can track my heart rate as well. It is more useful than I initially gave it credit for. I personally use the SE 3 model, which does everything I need it to do.

If you are looking to get a smartwatch, I highly recommend the Apple Watch SE 3.
